Love Rainy Days

I've grown to love rainy days (and winter days for the same reason but since winter is over, I won't focus on that! As a side note, my area had a total snowfall for 2025/2026 of 14ft! according to google AI). I must mention this to my sister-in-law Diane at least once a winter. And this is what I said...

I'm Stuck Inside Frustrated:

Since I no longer have an indoor arena to ride in bad inclement weather, I had to think of other things to do indoors. That's wasn't easy for me to do at first (but now I love it). I remember even as kid that I would get a little frustrated that I couldn't go outside to ride and to the barn to go be with the horses other than to do chores.  I didn't like being inside the house. My parents didn't have an indoor arena. But I did like playing in puddles. 😄

Fast forward to the last 20+ years. There is always so much work to do outside on a farm and I would still get a little frustrated that the weather was not cooperating to go outside to get my chores and yardwork done. I have things to do you know! 😏 OF course we all learn to work with the weather and get done what we have to do - but still.

Riding in the Rain:

There are times when we need to ride in the rain - rain slicker et al. But seriously? Who loves to ride in the rain if you can help it. I feel bad for these 2 guys (in the photo) who look to be riding in the rain in a parade. My snowplow neighbor who plows my driveway had quite the job this past winter and I helped him with that by giving him a bottle of Bailey's for his coffee. 😉

What to Do - Along Came the Arena:

I remember when I was a kid, how I was in awe of those horse owners who had an arena.  I vowed I would have one one day and I did - but not until my 40's.

The Complete Opposite:

Nowadays, I'm the complete opposite. Seriously, I actually look forward to rainy days or wintery days where I can stay inside, warm and guilt free while I work on other projects. I've made staying inside during very inclement weather very productive and enjoyable. I hope you do that too!
